With DAJ elections coming, we would like to share information the available positions up for reelection.

National Positions
1. National Chair
- Chief executive officer of DAJ
- Calls and establishes agenda of meetings (Excecutive Committee, Advisory Board, Annual General Meeting)
- Ensures DAJ is in compliance to be recognized as a Country Committee of Democrats Abroad (submitting required documents, holding the Annual General Meeting)
- Participates in DA Asia-Pacific Regional meetings
2. National Vice Chair
- Develops and assists with efforts and activities for DAJ
- In the absence of the Chair, takes over position as Chair
3. National Secretary
- Takes minutes during Executive Committee, Advisory Board, and Annual General Meetings
- Responsible for communicating with DAJ membership
- Maintains the membership database through NationBuilder
- Maintains the privacy of the membership in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Conducts membership verification check before the end of January every year (checks on members who haven’t shown activity in at least 4 years)
4. National Treasurer
- Manages the finances of DAJ
- Prepare financial reports at every meeting
- Keep in accordance with Federal Election Committee (FEC)
- Develops fundraising efforts
5. Counsel
- Provide consultation for the Executive Committee and other officers on legal and procedural questions relating to DAJ and its activities
- Serve as a tie-breaker during voting in Executive Committee, if necessary
6. DPCA (Democratic Party Committee Abroad) Voting Representative
- Represent DAJ during certain DA conventions, meetings, candidate and policy selection - votes during these events
7. Members-at-Large
- Serve as representative for an area in Japan that does not have sufficient membership to have an active chapter (NorthEast Honshu; SouthWest Honshu; Hokkaido; Kyushu, Shikoku, & Okinawa)
- Outreach
Chapter Positions
- Each Chapter (Kanto, Kansai, Tokai)
- Functions similar to Executive Committee but at the chapter level
- Chapter officials define goals for their term and create a schedule of social events and organize support for Get Out The Vote activities that will activate and engage local members.
1. Chair
- Manages efforts and activities for the chapter
- Serves on the Advisory Board to update to Executive Committee about said efforts and advise the Executive Committee as necessary on national efforts
2. Vice Chair
- Supports the Chapter Chair
3. Secretary
- Takes minutes during chapter meetings
- Communicates with chapter membership
4. Treasurer
- Liaisons with National Treasurer
- Properly handles chapter funds
