The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Democrats Abroad Norway (DAN) will take place on Wednesday, March 30th, from 7-8.30 pm on Zoom. At this meeting we will elect DAN Executive Committee (ExCom) officers for the following positions: Members-at-Large (2 positions), Voting Representative, and Counsel. This is an off-year, special election, so the term of each office will be one year. Voting will occur online only -- both prior to and during the AGM. In addition to elections we shall review the minutes of the previous AGM, have a report from the Treasure and the Chair, and consider other matters as may properly come before the meeting.

At the AGM on April 28, 2021, we revised our bylaws to add three new positions to the DAN Executive Committee – two Members-at-Large and one Voting Representative. These three positions were filled by appointment, with the approval of the ExCom. The DAN bylaws require that these positions, as well as any other vacancies, be opened up for election at the following year’s AGM. The position of Counsel is vacant as of March 30, 2022. 

The Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC) has been established and is ready to answer your questions and accept nominations. The committee members are: Karin Blake Granå (Chair), Sandra Salus, and Lillian Rosa Correa.

Any member of DAN is welcome to run for these vacant positions on the ExCom. We value diversity and encourage people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, and genders to run. You do not have to live in the Oslo area to be on the board; much of the ExCom’s work is done virtually.

IMPORTANT DATES

March 12:  Nominations must be received by the Chair of the NEC by 6pm.

March 16-29: Early voting will be open online. DAN members will receive an email with a link to the ballot. Early voting closes on March 29 at 12 pm.

March 30 7.00-8.30 pm: Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election on Zoom. DAN members who have not yet voted will be able to vote online during the meeting. Members will need to attend the meeting to receive the link to the ballot.
