Guided Tour of the Flensburg Brewery

Every chapter of Democrats Abroad Germany thinks that the beer in their region is hot stuff. But in the North we have Flens, so we win.

To celebrate our victory, and as a fundraiser for Democrats Abroad, the Hamburg and Northern Germany chapter is inviting members to a tour of Flensburg, including a guided tour of the brewery in English, and a walking tour of the central district.
The brewery tour features:
- A film presentation
- A tour of the brewery's production facilities
- A beer-tasting with a "kleine herzhafte Brotzeit" -- hearty northern German fare
And the brewery offers 10% discounts at the "Plop-Shop" to tour visitors.

Before the brewery tour, precinct captain Bobby Winkler will lead visitors on a walking tour of central Flensburg. We'll meet at 12 noon in the foyer of the Flensburg train station -- it's small enough that we'll see you there. The brewery tour begins at 3 PM.
The ticket price covers the cost of the brewery tour, with proceeds benefiting Democrats Abroad Germany. Your donation to Democrats Abroad will support our efforts in the current election year to Get Out the Vote, reach out to American voters in Germany, and win majorities that will secure a better future for Americans everywhere.
Travel to Flensburg
As we approach the date of the tour, we will get in touch with participants to organize travel plans. It may be possible, for example, to travel by train very inexpensively with a Gruppenkarte for groups of 5. It depends on where you'll be coming from, and how many will be using a Deutschlandkarte. With a Deutschlandkarte, the trip is free from anywhere in our region.
Please buy a ticket and send an RSVP by April 30th, so that we can purchase the tour tickets, and start to plan ahead.
The train that is currently scheduled to leave Hamburg at 9:43 AM on June 15th gets us into Flensburg at 11:40 AM. From Bremen, the train scheduled to leave at 8:17 AM arrives in Hamburg at 9:14 AM, so it would possible to join a group in Hamburg. From Lübeck, you could take the train to Hamburg Hbf that leaves at 8:37 AM and arrives in Hamburg at 9:25 AM, to join the group. Or you could leave Lübeck at 9:09 AM, change at Bad Oldesloe and join the group in Neumünster. We'll figure it out!
