Democrats Abroad Japan’s in-person Presidential Primary will be held Sunday, March 10, 2024. Voters will have the opportunity to cast their vote in one of 3 Voting Centers across the country – stay tuned for locations and voting times—to help select the next Democratic presidential candidate. Democrats Abroad will send delegates to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in August 2024, reflecting our primary results. These delegates will be elected at our regional and global conventions next year.
We’ll need all the help we can get to make sure things run smoothly at the Voting Centers, so consider volunteering as a greeter, ballot distributor, tellers to tally votes, and other roles. Email [email protected] if you’re interested. And look out for other ways to sign up in the coming weeks.
To vote in DAJ’s in-person primary: you must meet the following criteria:
- Reside abroad and be a U.S. Citizen
- Be a member of Democrats Abroad
- Be 18 as of November 5, 2024
- Not have voted, or plan to vote, in any other 2024 state presidential primary
Know any voters in Japan who aren’t yet DAJ members? Please forward them this information! Also let them know that Democrats Abroad allows same-day registration for voters participating in the Global Presidential Primary. You can sign up at https://www.democratsabroad.org/join.
Besides in-person voting, voters abroad may also vote by downloading a ballot and emailing, faxing, or postal mailing it to Democrats Abroad from February 27, 2024, through March 12, 2024.
