Hope you’re able to celebrate Thanksgiving this week! Kanto members took over the Hard Rock Café in Tokyo last weekend (see pictures below). Something to be thankful for: results of Nov 7 statewide elections are in and we had some great wins. Yet we have heard of issues with absentee ballots – contact us if your ballot was returned. DAJ Phonebanking Campaign – Call for Volunteers
We’ve been given an opportunity—and funding—to reach out to DAJ members who are voting in swing states and swing districts to encourage them to get to the polls in 2024. Join our team of phonebankers! Email [email protected].

2024 Global Presidential Primary
Mark Your Calendars! DAJ has set Sunday, March 10, 2024 as our in-person 2024 Presidential Primary and we’re planning 3 Voting Centers through the country. Kanto members! If you know a convenient, practical location to host the primary in the Kanto region, let us know at [email protected]. We’ll also need volunteers as greeters, ballot distributors, and other roles. Contact [email protected] if you’re interested. In the meantime: sign a petition to ensure a candidate is on the ballot.

DA Asia-Pacific Virtual Skill-Building Weekend Recap
On Nov 4-5, 50 DA Asia-Pacific leaders gathered to share best practices, network, review strengths and weaknesses, and assess how to get out the vote in 2024. Leadership development focused on mentoring, reaching younger voters, and the value of volunteers. We learned fundraising tactics and recommendations on holding the 2024 Presidential Primaries. Finally, we heard from DA’s Global Chair and Vice-Chair. Thanks to AP RVC Suma Shamanna, Japan’s DCPA Voting Rep Sarajean Rossitto, and many others for a great weekend!

Kanto Thanksgiving Celebration
Around 30 DAJ Kanto Chapter members gathered for turkey, cranberry sauce, veggies, stuffing, gravy, and mashed potatoes at the Hard Rock Café in Roppongi. Thanks to all who came!

Support Abortion and Clean Water Amendments by Dec 31
DA’s Florida state team has alerted us to two critical state constitutional amendments that are closing to getting on the ballot for statewide votes! Read more here and sign the petitions by December 31, 2023.

Kanto Chapter 2024 GOTV Kickoff Event

Join the Kanto Team as we launch election year with a crucial information session and training workshops. Get prepared to contribute to four more years of Democratic leadership. Get empowered, knowing that you can make a difference in the number of votes cast from Japan. This is a must-attend for anyone eager to support DAJ and ensure successful turnout in 2024. Voter Assistance Training
Until mid-December 2023 – every Wed, 1am JST; every Fri, 9am JST; every Sun, 6pm JST
Learn to help overseas voters register to vote, receive their ballots, and return their them to their state. Provide assistance at in-person events, the Intercom Voter Help Desk, or Voter Assistance Zoom Rooms. More info here
