The Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary runs from March 3 to March 10, 2020. We’re holding more than 220 events in 45 countries around the world. Democrats Abroad is global so our primary is global!
Also, we are a Super Tuesday "state," which means that your vote in the global primary is counted early in the nomination process for the Democratic presidential candidate!
Find a polling station near you and join in, or vote remotely by email, fax or postal mail! Your vote will help determine the Democratic Presidential candidates our delegates vote for at the Democratic National Convention this July.
We will have eighteen official voting center times across France starting on Super Tuesday, March 3! In addition, we will be adding Pop-up Ballot Assistance events during the in-person voting period! So, bookmark our webpage where we will be providing regular updates on DA France Global Primary events.
Quick background on the Global Presidential Primary
As a the official Democratic Party "state" for the estimated nine million Americans living abroad, Democrats Abroad will send twenty-one delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee this July. Those delegates will reflect the results of the Global Presidential Primary.

- Voters may register in-person or by signing up at democratsabroad.org/join
- Voters abroad may also vote by downloading a ballot and emailing or postal mailing it to Democrats Abroad starting February 18, 2020. Ballots must be received by DA prior to 12:00 am Pacific Standard Time on March 11, 2020.
You can vote in ONE presidential primary. We hope that you will chose to vote in the Global Presidential Primary. So, once you receive your ballot from your voting state, just leave the presidential box blank. You can still vote "down ballot" for your US Senator, US Representative, state and local officials.
Fun fact: Democrats Abroad is the 11th state by population! Which means that we as overseas voters potentially have tremendous influence in the 2020 elections!
That said, tens of thousands of people will participate in the GPP this year, while millions will vote in your home state. Here are statistics for a few states.
- 4 X more impactful than CA
