Democrats Abroad Norway had a booth at the 38th annual Independence Day Celebration in Frogner Park in Oslo, Norway, on June 29th.
On this beautiful summer day, we spoke with people about their concerns and hopes for America — Norwegians who were worried about traveling to the US, but others who loved Elvis and American culture. Americans who were worried about rising fascism, losing Social Security, and ICE deporting the people who actually make America great. Others who feel inspired by Bernie, AOC, and Mamdani, or who were visiting Norway and happy to learn about DAN’s actions supporting them from afar! Congresswomen Chrissy Houlahan from PA. (pictured above with DAN Voting Rep Christina Skovsgaard, Chair Erica Gibson, and Secretary Joy Buikema-Fjaertoft) stopped by to listen to our concerns, along with her colleagues Rep. Adam Smith from Washington and Rep. Jimmy Panetta from California. We feel strengthened by these talks and will continue to fight to save our democracy, and be a home and resource for Democrats in Norway.
