DAN held a No Dictators Day protest picnic in Frogner Park on June 14th in coordination with the No Kings protests across the US and 49 others in cities around the world. Between 120-150 of you came out and bravely spoke out against the current administration and their illegal dismantling of American Democracy.
DAN Executive Committee members Erica Gibson, Andy Stites, and Christina Skovsgaard spoke and Erica read a speech by David Morse who was unable to attend. We also had a speaker’s corner and many DAN members, visitors from the US, and Norwegian citizens spoke out about why they were attending the protest and how the Trump administration had negatively affected their lives or the lives of their loved ones. People covered topics such as LGBTQ+ rights, cuts to funding on health and science, immigration and racial profiling, and others. Thank you to all of the people brave enough to stand up and speak out!
