Your Vote Counts — From School Boards to the Statehouse

🇺🇸 Are You Outraged by the Attacks on Our Communities?

Are you appalled by ongoing attacks on:

• Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA)?
• Immigrants and non-white U.S. citizens?
• LGBTQ+ Americans, students, and families?

These attacks are happening not just in Washington or Tallahassee — they are erupting in school boards, town councils, and county commissions across Florida.

🛑 Remaining silent isn't neutral — it's surrender.
Saying "I don't live there anymore, I shouldn't be involved" leaves the field open to extremists. Your vote from abroad can protect the most vulnerable and hold the line at every level.

✅ Voting From Abroad – Step-by-Step

📨 1. Register and Request Your Ballot

Use the nonpartisan tool to complete your Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). You should submit a new one each year.  Remember that Florida cancels all absentee ballot requests after each general election.

📨 2. Request to receive your ballot via email (fastest, safest)

📨 3. Before returning your ballot:

• • Have you signed and dated you voter oath?  Your ballot will not be accepted if you don't!
  • Have you voted all the way down the ballot?  Our next generation of leaders are running for these posts.  They need our support!

📨 4. Return your ballot by fax, or using an email-to-fax service

Because of many problems with both overseas mail and the US Postal service, we strongly recommend returning your ballot by fax.  See our guide at https://www.democratsabroad.org/florida_voting_information#EMAIL

📨 5. Track your ballot -- make certain that your vote counts

📚 General Public Resources – Democratic & Nonpartisan

One of the most frequent questions that we're asked is, "How do I know who to vote for?"  While party affiliation is a great proxy right now (because EVERY Republican candidate is a Trump enabler), things get harder in working down the ballot to the non-partisan elections.  On 13 July 2026, the Florida Trib, a non-profit newsroom, announced a coalition of partners to provide coverage of every Florida election -- including those oh-so-important School Board races.  Partners include heavy-hitters like the Miami Herald and the Orlando Sentinel.  Please check out their announcement at Florida Trip Colaborative.  We've added a link to their home page in our resource list below.
