The following are minutes from the prior General Meeting February 12, 2026.

We are calling for a General Membership Meeting for the Costa  Banderas chapter of Democrats Abroad for Thursday October 22 starting at 4:00 PM. We will convene upstairs at Nacho Daddy Restaurant (Basilio Badillo 287, Col. Emiliano Zapata, 48380 Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco). 

The key purpose of the meeting is to approve chapter bylaws revisions eliminating the gender parity requirement for chair and vice chair prior to the Annual General Meeting to be scheduled in February 2027. Other agenda items will include 

• Updates on Vote From Abroad, including ongoing help for Overseas voters, updates on laws, lawsuits, and other current challenges. 
• Critical races, and 
• What is left to complete before election

A social hour will follow the meeting.

National, local, and international organizations are planning potentially thousands of demonstrations across the US and the world on April 5, 2025. The purpose of these is to loudly and to visually voice opposition to the policies and actions of Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the Republican lawmakers who have allowed the gutting of the service infrastructures, unauthorized access to sensitive personal information, and in some cases the disrupting funding for federal services.  These essential services include Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and many others.
