Hybrid AGM in Windeck, March 28-30

Join us in Windeck for our Annual General Meeting from Friday, March 28th to Sunday, March 30th to get involved with Democrats Abroad Germany and contribute to our plan for 2025. The meeting will be hosted by the Cologne-Bonn Chapter.

Schedule of Events

Friday, March 28

Arrival and informal pizza dinner at the Chapter Chair's house in the evening. RSVP here.

Saturday, March 29

The main meeting will take place on Saturday and will be a hybrid event, so that as many members of DA Germany can participate and help us develop our plan of action for getting out the vote in 2025.

This meeting will be focused on looking ahead and what we want to focus on in the coming years. We will address the questions: What should be our priorities? What are our members most concerned about? What does “resistance” mean?

This meeting will be an opportunity to have open discussions and help shape DA Germany. In addition, we will announce the newly elected DA Germany leadership.

The meeting will include a session led by Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta.

That evening, join us for dinner at Kabelmetal, to further collaborate and network across all DA Germany chapters.

Representative Malcolm Kenyatta is a third-generation North Philadelphia native and legislator currently
serving in the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

Representative Kenyatta is a barrier-breaking public figure, becoming the first openly LGBTQ+ person of color and one of the youngest people elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 2018. In 2022, he became the first openly LGBTQ+ person of color to seek a U.S. Senate seat in American history. In April 2024, he made history again as the first openly LGBTQ+ person ever nominated for statewide office by a major political party in Pennsylvania when he became the Democratic nominee for Auditor General. In the general election, he earned nearly 3.1 million votes, the second-highest vote total for any Democrat on the ticket that year. In February 2025 he was elected as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee.

In 2020, he was chosen to give the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention alongside a group of other ‘Rising Stars,’ and in 2024, he returned to the DNC as an individual speaker, continuing to represent the next generation of Democratic leadership. His groundbreaking political career and personal life have been the subject of two award-winning documentaries, including an Al Roker-produced feature-length film, Kenyatta: Do Not Wait Your Turn.

In the ExCom meeting on Sunday, Adrienne George will lead us in a "Mindfulness Workshop." This session will offer practical mindfulness tools—breathwork, gentle movement, affirmations, and journaling—to help members of Democrats Abroad Germany stay grounded, manage stress, and sustain their efforts for change. The practices are simple and accessible and can be woven into daily life.
