Chapter Leader Spotlight: Meet Dr. Wy Ming Lin
Chair of the Stuttgart & Southwestern Germany Chapter

I’m originally from New York City, but I moved to Tübingen to pursue my master’s in neuroscience. Since then, I’ve put down roots here—I recently completed my PhD in psychology and am now working at the University of Tübingen as a postdoctoral researcher.
I decided to run for Chair of the Stuttgart and Southwestern Germany Chapter because I’m passionate about voter outreach. There are so many Americans living in Baden-Württemberg, and I want to make sure our voices are heard back home—especially with everything at stake in the upcoming elections.
Even though our chapter spans most of Baden-Württemberg and includes over a thousand members, it’s still been relatively quiet. I want to change that. My goal is to activate more precincts and create spaces where Americans can come together—to organize, to commiserate when things get rough in the States, and to remind each other that we’re not alone.
Right now, most of our activity is centered in Stuttgart, but we’re working to expand. We have a tabling event in Stuttgart coming up and local meetups planned in the Bodensee and Freiburg areas. We’re also aiming to grow in the northern parts of the chapter in the months ahead.
And if you’re wondering what’s motivating me these days—
my favorite quote right now?
“Lock him up.”
