The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Democrats Abroad Norway (DAN) will take place on Wednesday, June 4th, from 7-8:30 pm at Deichman Library Bjørvika. Members may also attend online via Zoom. At this meeting we will elect officers for the following positions in the DAN Executive Committee (ExCom): Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Counsel, DPCA (Democratic Party Committee Abroad) Voting Representative (2 positions), and DPCA Alternate Voting Representative (2 positions). Voting will occur online only -- both prior to and during the AGM. In addition to elections we shall review the minutes of the previous AGM, vote on revisions to the bylaws, have a report from the Treasurer and the Chair, and consider other matters as may properly come before the meeting.

The Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC) has been established and is ready to answer your questions and accept nominations. The committee members are: Karin Blake Granå (Chair), Lillian Rosa Correa, and Martha Mathewson. 

Any member of DAN is welcome to run for these vacant positions on the ExCom. We value diversity and encourage people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, and genders to run. You do not have to live in the Oslo area to be on the board; much of the ExCom’s work is done virtually.

IMPORTANT DATES

• May 18:  Nominations must be received by the NEC Chair by 6 pm.

• May 19 / 7:00-8:30 pm: “Meet the Candidates” event at Deichman Library Bjørvika (Nøklevann room). All candidates may present themselves either in person or online. RSVP here to attend in person or online.

• May 25 - June 3: Early voting will be open online. DAN members will receive an email with a link to the ballot. Early voting closes on June 3 at 12 pm.

• June 4 / 7:00-8:30 pm: Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election at Deichman Library Bjørvika (Nøklevann room) and on Zoom. DAN members who have not yet voted will be able to vote online during the meeting. Members will need to attend the meeting to receive the link to the ballot. RSVP here to attend in person or online.
