October 2023 DAG Newsletter

While the days get shorter and the international news gets darker, let's focus our energy on working together for a brighter future for all through our organizing efforts here in Germany.

Democrats Abroad Germany has many opportunities for you to get involved this month, including fundraising while trying new wines and submitting your nomination for the most inspiring DAG volunteer. Find out more below!

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE DAG VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION AWARD!

The success of Democrats Abroad (DA) is a result of the hard work, time, and energy given by dedicated and passionate volunteers. Our volunteers in DA Germany spend their time organizing events, calling members to remind them to vote, stand at tables on the weekends to spread the word about voting, color postcards, and so much more.

To show our appreciation, we have created the DA Germany Volunteer Appreciation Award. Recipients will be presented with the award at our 2024 Annual General Meeting. You may nominate members from any chapter in DA Germany and may also submit more than one nomination. More information is available here and nominations can be submitted via this form until Sunday, October 29th, 18:00 CET.

WINE TASTING FUNDRAISER IN NUREMBERG

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27

Join the North and Central Bavaria Chapter for an evening of yummy wines and great conversation!

To celebrate the spooky season, NCB is having a wine tasting fundraiser to support Get-Out-The-Vote activities in the run-up to the 2024 General Election.

Admission gets you a taste of all the wines, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. And if you find a new fave, wines selected and provided by members will be available to take home for a donation (while supplies last).

CALL FOR RECIPES FOR OUR DAG COOKBOOK

Our Advertising Coordinator Angela Fobbs put forward the fantastic idea of compiling a cookbook of recipes from our members and selling it as a fundraiser to help us get out the vote. The idea is to collect American recipes from our members (modified for use with German ingredients if necessary) and make the book available for sale.

Recipes for your grandmother's potato salad, your own favorite vegan brownies, or anything near and dear to your heart are needed! No recipe is too simple or too fancy to include.

Now it is up to all of us members to submit our recipes using this Google form

BECOME A SUSTAINING DONOR

The support that our sustaining donors provide each month allows DAG to reliably plan how to use our resources best to get out the vote.

If you appreciate our tabling, outreach, and advertising efforts, please consider becoming a sustaining donor to support DA Germany's future activities.
