After the November ‘24 election I took a longer break from following politics and the news than some.
In truth, I stuck my head in the sand for 6-months.
The questions I’ve begun asking myself of late are “what do we want to do now” and “who do we want to be”?
So when Dems Abroad put out a notice asking for volunteers to help it hit at the right moment. We never know what that thing will be that nudges us back on track, but the important thing is that when it comes we are ready to step forward and say “yes”.
Yes to the need - yes to our community - yes to our values - and importantly, yes to those with whom we need to work to find compromise to move us forward.
In this chair position you’ll find I will generally have more questions than answers, because answers are the end of the conversation while questions open the door to staying engaged. I hope you’ll also find that I am focused on the Democrats Abroad mission of representing our democratic values, defending our rights, and upholding the dignity of all citizens wherever they live. We do these things through exercising and helping others exercise their right to vote in U.S. Elections at home and abroad.
