No Tyrants Global Day of Defiance [Tokyo] Sat Oct 18 3pm

Join Democrats Abroad Japan on Sat Oct 18 3pm as we send a simple yet strong message to the corrupt and increasingly authoritarian Trump administration: No Tyrants will be tolerated. Come join us as we resist the Trump regime and stand up for our constitution and democracy!

  • 3-4pm - Chanting, singing protest songs, speeches and rally => this is a call to action, not an end point
Some preparation notes:
  • Please bring your own signs - hats or shirts or or jackets or umbrellas with messages are fine - esp if raining!
  • Make your own signs but Please stick with the DA messages NO TYRANTS (see options
  • Carry your own signs - like a sandwich board, on a big fan or on a stick. 
  • Large banners cannot be hung on stationary objects like buildings or polls or guardrails 
  • If you can - bring an extra sign for someone who forgot theirs
  • If the media joins us - DAJ Leadership will do official interviews on behalf of DA, but anyone is welcome to do a personal interview.
  • DAJ leadership will have the official media talking points ready on the day 
  • There will be no march
  • Nonviolent Japan protest rules apply.
    • Please do not include names of people on signs 
    • No hate speech - including no rude or attacking signs
    • No foul language (in English or Japanese) or shouting at people walking by.
    • Please do no hang banners.
    • Please do not harass passersby or stop traffic.  (Our target is not the Japanese public.)
    • Please do not sit or walk in the street.
    • Please do not comment on Japan's laws or politicians. (Our target is not the Japanese govt.)
  • Democrats Abroad Guidelines
    • No comments on Intl affairs, overseas issues or the like.
    • Stick with the NO TYRANTS message. 
    • FYI - No Kings is a US nonprofit. We do not want to impact their status. We  live overseas and are not commenting on other nation's kings.
  • If there are any disruptive persons - please ignore them but tell DAJ Leaders
Americans around the world are gathering to demonstrate what we believe in: that democracy matters and the United States does not belong to a wannabe king. We're showing up everywhere to say no to tyrants, no to dictators, no to oligarchs, and no to autocrats.
