VMF Artwork: Protest Artwork by Erica Gibson

The images below show artwork completed by Erica Gibson, an elected leader within Democrats Abroad Norway. The artwork was created in support of the October 18, 2025, “No Kings/Tyrants” protests, which took place worldwide, and was a response to the widespread disapproval of the Trump Administration’s policies among Americans.

In Erica’s “ICE” example, an overwhelming majority of the American people have taken issue with the president’s clear misuse of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency such as hiding behind masks, arresting people without warrants, performing “snatch-and-grab” tactics on both non-citizens and U.S. citizens, disappearing in unmarked vehicles, and more. In another example, Erica’s VoteFromAbroad.org-themed drawing plays off “The Exorcist” movie, written by William Peter Blatty, where pure evil and hatred are trapped inside Linda Blair’s character.

Erica’s protest artwork expresses her thoughts on this Administration’s approach to how it treats law-abiding citizens and immigrants. The Democrats Abroad Global Veterans and Military Families (VMF) Caucus especially appreciates her “works of dissent” and finds it consistent with what VMF members have been feeling in the lead-up to the No Kings/Tyrants protests.
