VMF Artwork: Veteran’s Remembrance Wreath by Michael Ramos

Pictured below is a homemade wreath given to the family of a U.S. Army Veteran named John George, who passed away in 2025 in Melbourne, Australia. The wreath was created by Michael Ramos, a member of Democrats Abroad Australia and Democrats Abroad’s Global Veterans and Military Families Caucus.

Using camouflage-patterned fabric folded and attached to a wicker base, the 14-inch diameter wreath contains accents of John’s service in uniform as an Army Ranger who deployed to Iraq and served six tours before returning home with mental health challenges. Customized stainless steel replica dog tags are added to complement John’s military service.

U.S. citizens living abroad, both civilian and military, are highly encouraged to check your voter registration status and request your ballot for any upcoming elections in your home voting state that you are eligible to vote in.
