DA Thailand (DAT) is part of Democrats Abroad, the official arm of the U.S. Democratic Party for the estimated 9 million Americans living abroad. Our mission is to get those overseas voters to cast their ballots for Democratic candidates in all US elections. Democrats Abroad is active in 52 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and we’re the largest volunteer-driven organization of Americans living abroad.

DAT has active chapters in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and we’re open to organizing chapters in other parts of the Kingdom too. We’d love your help in getting a chapter started closer to where you live!

In addition to voter registration, we also work on Congressional advocacy on issues that matter to Americans Abroad, like changing from citizenship-based to residence-based taxation, or the ability to use Medicare benefits overseas. DA also has many global, issues-based caucus groups you can join. Getting involved with DAT is a great way to meet like-minded Americans and enjoy social events, movie screenings, pub nights, live online chats with US political candidates, debate watch parties, and gathering to see election returns roll in.

Democrats Abroad has played a crucial role in past elections and we’re currently working to help elect Democrats and pass important ballot initiatives in special elections this year. And to retake control of the House and Senate in the 2026 mid-terms, we’re determined to mobilize the overseas vote in the same way. If you have the time and motivation, we absolutely need volunteers to help register voters and remind those who are already registered to request their ballots.

So, please join us and share your voice at any of the Democrats Abroad events listed below. Together, we can reach fellow Democrats worldwide and remind them to vote. We’re thrilled to have you here, so get involved and BE THE DIFFERENCE!
