DAJ Annual General Meeting Minutes
Thank you again to all members who attended our Annual General Meeting for this year on April 19th. If you were unable to attend or otherwise wish to review the meeting, here are the minutes from the meeting.
DAJ National Election 2025 - Voting Period now!
Voting is now open for this year’s DAJ National Election. Members have two ways to vote:

Fill out a digital ballot. (if you access the digital ballot link from the email with the subject line "[BALLOT ENCLOSED] DAJ National Election 2025" sent on April 19th, your membership number will be automatically filled in.)

Print and fill out a PDF ballot, then take a scan or image of the completed ballot and email it to [email protected]
All ballots must be returned by Saturday May 17th at 11:59pm Japan time.
Anyone interested in being a write-candidate is welcome to submit a candidate statement to [email protected].
All candidate statements, including from write-in candidates, can be viewed in this folder.
Ballot count meeting will be on Sunday May 18th at 11am via Webex. Please check this news post for more details. For any questions, please contact the Nominations and Election Committee at [email protected].
2025 DAJ Bylaws Ballot
Voting on the proposed DAJ bylaws has begun. DAJ members can vote by:

Digital ballot - sent by email, check mailbox from April 25th (easiest way to vote!)

PDF ballot - Fill in and return the complete ballot (partial ballots cannot be counted) by email to [email protected]

Regular mail or fax - Contact the bylaws committee by email ([email protected]) for a mailing address or fax #
All ballots must include your name, signature, and date in order to be counted. Deadline for ballot receipt is May 17th before midnight.
Ballot count meeting will be on May 18th at 10am. Event page information here.
DAJ Chapter Elections 2025
The 2025 elections for the DAJ Chapters: Kanto, Kansai, and Tokai. If you are a member in one of these chapters, please the information below:

Kanto Chapter Election - Ballots will be distributed electronically on May 12th and must be received by June 2nd at 11:59pm. Write-in campaigns for positions are encouraged, please contact [email protected] if interested. Check the voting information page for more details.

Kansai Chapter Election - Ballots will be distributed electronically on May 12th. Ballots will be accepted until 11:59 pm Japan time on June 2nd.

Tokai Chapter in Formation Election - Nominations are due by May 8th 11:59pm. Information about sending in nominations here.
DAJ Discord Server
As part of our ongoing outreach, DA Japan is excited to announce that we are launching a Discord server so that our members nationwide have an open forum to interact and share ideas. We are looking for volunteer moderators and server staff to help us make this space the best it can be!

Kanto Chapter May Speakeasy

Due to Golden Week, this month's Speakeasy will be held on the third Thursday, still at the Aldgate in Shibuya. Enjoy good company and conversation, have a drink, learn more about Democrats Abroad Japan, talk politics, elections, or not! Bring your friends, whether or not they're DA members. All are welcome!

2025 Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting & Regional Vice Chair Election

The Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting and RVC Election Meeting will be held on June 8, 2025 as part of the Democrats Abroad Annual Global Meeting. This online meeting is open to all the DA members.
