    Chapter Election Meeting

As politically engaged citizens, we know all about participating in elections. Instead of a president or congressperson, this time we are electing chapter leadership.

The elections will be held ONLINE at 1pm on March 11th. You will receive a zoom link once you have RSVP'd to the event.

If you are interested in becoming more active in the chapter, please read more about the leadership positions available here or attend the info sessions for potential candidates (RSVP here or here).

    First Saturday Monthly Meeting

First Saturday in Münster is Back

After experimenting a bit with other days of the week for our monthly get together, we have decided to go back to the basics and resume our first Saturday in Münster meetings. And as long as we are going back in time, why not hold the meeting in one of our favorite locations: Pension Schmidt. As we slide ever deeper into 2023, our goal this year is get a bit of the mojo back that we had before the pandemic sidelined our meetings. We'd love to see you there!

Where do choreographers and dancers get their inspiration? How do four violin concertos become a piece for dance ensemble? TanzNAH #6 offers an exclusive insight into the creative process of Lillian Stillwell and the dance ensemble. In the ballet studio, you will experience the creation of the choreography for Vivaldi's The Four Seasons up close and get a feel for the dancers' daily routine.

Afterwards, we invite you to join us in the Theatertreff for snacks and drinks - in two languages! Together with our "Special Guests" from Democrats Abroad, whose members come from the USA and live in Germany, we look forward to stimulating discussions in English and in German about art, culture and life across national borders.

    When: 17.02.2023
Meeting place: Stage entrance Theater Münster
    Time: 17.50
    Duration:18.00 - 19.30 h
    Free of charge!

    Number of participants limited!
Please send registrations to: [email protected]

    What is TanzNAH, you ask?

Exhalation. Eye contact. Sweat, tears, warmth, laughter. The closeness that dancers feel in everyday life is shared with our audience in the new format TanzNAH. Dance connects people of all abilities and backgrounds, is shared between generations, triggers states of well-being and is the culmination of rituals in almost all cultures.

Dance takes place not only on stages, but wherever people gather, celebrate, mourn, recreate, and work. TanzNAH will playfully and directly bring the proximity of dance to the city and to our audiences.

Through a series of live digital and analog experiences in theaters, museums, clubs, storefronts, daycare centers, and marketplaces, the world of dance and dancers will be brought to a broader and more diverse audience. Unlike scheduled dance performances, TanzNAH episodes can be experienced spontaneously, randomly and free of charge in the city.

Even from a distance, we can be found with digital versions of our episodes. Follow us: #tanzNAHmuenster #tanzNAHganzNAH #TanzNAH @tanzmuenster on Instagram

Summer is finally here, and that means it's vacation time! Democrats Abroad Muenster will be taking a break this August, but we will return in full force in September! We have quite a few events planned, which will hopefully be able to take place in person. We are planning for that at the moment, but as we approach the events, we will evaluate the current situation and decide whether it’s possible to meet in person or not. Read the rest of our newsletter to see what events we have in store and ways you can get involved this summer!
