Virtual Thanksgiving: How to Deflect and Diffuse Conversations with a MAGA Relative

Come and join us with your Thanksgiving-inspired dishes and drinks for a discussion that ranges from your favorite Thanksgiving foods and family traditions to those tough conversations with family members who are on the other side of the political spectrum.

Our online gathering will feature a special guest, Dr. Genevieve Bartuski, PsyD, MBA, who will talk to us about "Protecting Your Peace:  How to talk with your MAGA friends and family during the holidays."

The evening's schedule:

6:00-6:20 PM     Welcome, introductions, share what food/drink you are either bringing to our gathering or what you are missing from your Thanksgiving table now that you’ve moved abroad.
 
6:20-6:30 PM     Introduction of guest speaker and topic.
 
6:30-7:00 PM.    How to talk with your MAGA family and friends during the holidays.
 
7:00-7:30 PM     Discussion/Q&A
 
How have you deflected and diffused those conversations in your life? We will share tips and suggestions that will be helpful, especially in a time of a lot of misinformation.

Dr. Genevieve Bartuski, PsyD, MBA is a clinical forensic psychologist, former hostage negotiator, and accomplished business leader with a unique and diverse background. With most of her career dedicated to forensic settings, collaborating closely with law enforcement, and working on death row, Dr. Bartuski has developed a profound understanding of human behavior in high-stakes environments. Her experience includes serving as a crisis (hostage) negotiator. She continues to consult and train with her former negotiation team, sharing her expertise to prepare others for critical situations.

In 2022, Dr. Bartuski expanded her professional toolkit by earning an MBA, combining her clinical acumen with strategic business insight. Currently, she is the founder of Bartuski Privacy Consulting, a privacy compliance and AI governance consulting firm, specializing in supporting European companies seeking to enter the U.S. market. Her work focuses on navigating the complex intersections of technology, privacy, and regulatory frameworks. Alongside her consulting practice, she remains engaged in clinical work by doing limited hours in a private practice to stay connected to her roots in psychology.

In her free time, Dr. Bartuski enjoys studying French and Italian. She lives in the picturesque mountains of Virginia with her four dogs and spends her downtime hiking, reading, and embracing the serenity of nature.
