Residence-based Taxation Congressional Call and Letter Writing Storm

The US and Eritrea are the only two countries that tax their overseas citizens on income earned outside of their country of residence. Democrats Abroad is working with other organizations representing Americans living abroad to advocate for making taxation residence-based rather than citizenship-based. DADK will join in with a calling and letter-writing event on June 15th (overseas tax filing day). We will gather at Books & Company in Hellerup (Sofievej 1, a five minute walk from Hellerup Station) on the 15th at 7pm. Together we will learn about residence-based taxation, and call and write to our elected senators and representatives. Scripts for calling and templates for writing will be provided.

There is no charge for the event, but donations (from US citizens only) will be gratefully accepted.

Remember also that all US citizens are required to file taxes in the US by June 15th of each year. You can find more information on the IRS website.
