We are in a precarious time, but we’ve seen difficult times before. The good news is we know how to persevere and win. Now’s the time to ensure that the rights we’ve fought for are not eroded by this administration or future administrations. Democrats Abroad and the LGBTQ+ Caucus is committed to making this happen by getting out the vote and ensuring that our community is heard.
Building community is also important. I imagine that many of you are in the same situation I was in when I moved to The Netherlands in 2013. I moved here for my wife, and my life is richer for it, but it did leave me feeling a little lost at first. When you move for someone else, whether it’s your partner or maybe your children, it can initially feel like you’ve lost a small part of your own sense of self. This caucus should be a place where you can find support and make friends too.
We do all that and still make time for fun events like 2026 World Pride in Amsterdam.
