    Sydney Chapter Meet-Up

Please join us for a chapter social catch-up at the Aurora Hotel in Surry Hills on Tuesday, the 25th!

It’s a great opportunity to talk all things politics, meet some fellow members, and stay up-to-date with the latest goings-on with Democrats Abroad – including potential upcoming events around the 4th of July and the latest work from the global Taxation Task Force.

With our NSW Annual General Meeting happening in June, we’ll be opening nominations shortly for NSW chapter officers – if you’re interested in getting involved, it’s a great forum to ask questions and learn more!  If you can’t join us in person but are interested in becoming a chapter officer, please also feel free to send Laura Myers a message.

The Aurora offers food-and-drink specials from 5-8pm, so feel free to join us early for some dinner and refreshment.

We'll kick off with announcements and updates around 6:30.

    Hope to see you there!

    Queensland Annual General Meeting

Please RSVP now [link] for the Democrats Abroad Australia Queensland Annual General Meeting at 10AM on Saturday May 29th, at an outdoor Brisbane location to be confirmed.

At this time we would also like to invite candidate officers for the Queensland chapter who will be elected by majority vote at the AGM:

Chapter Chairperson - To serve as the Queensland representative to the Democrats Abroad Australia executive committee, and to ensure our chapter remains in compliance with the national bylaws. Other supporting roles may include:

    • Chapter Vice Chairperson
    • Chapter Secretary
    • Chapter Treasurer
The Queensland Chair further sets the agenda for the chapter, including planning and executing member events, and coordinates with the Democrats Abroad Australia leadership to support Democratic Party Committee Abroad (DPCA) initiatives in Australia. In a political climate where every overseas vote counts, this is an important leadership position for the future of the Democratic Party and the US as we fight to keep hold of divided Congress in the midterm elections.

If you would like to nominate, please email your interest to
    [email protected].

We’ll confirm the venue and final details of our AGM soon. Please save the date, Saturday 29 May, for the AGM and let us know if you are interested in serving in a leadership role!
