Democrats Abroad Frankfurt has had a busy summer, with back-to-back events in July and a Get Out the Vote table on the agenda for August. Check out our EVENT post. We still need volunteers for the table. Our Fourth of July party on Jul. 8 at Schwanheim Waldspielpark was a tremendous success. A weather-related city ordinance against grilling in public places threatened to torpedo plans for a barbecue, but Carl’s neighbor saved the day, cooking all the meat for us in advance at his house. The final tally showed that 60 chapter members attended. The Christopher Street Day (CSD), a weekend-long event that took place Jul.14 -16 was not only great fun, but also a commercial success.Thanks to our volunteers who either marched in the parade, minded the GOTV table or both. And thanks to all those who stopped by the table and bought buttons, t-shirts and tote bags. We also signed up some potential new members and/or voters and gave away countless stickers, flags and flyers (DA and Pride). The poster of the "former guy" in drag hanging over our stand was so popular that countless people stopped to take photos of it. We even ran out of some buttons! Now it is August, and time to make good on our intentions! Check out the following activities and get involved.

Saturday, August 12, 11:30am - 4:30pm Zeil, across from Galeria Kaufhof Ready to give some time this summer, helping others to register and get ready to vote? We are organizing a Vote-From-Abroad table in Frankfurt on August 12 th and need people to help set-up the tent (11:30-12:00), work the table (12:00-16:00) and take things down and put them away (16:00-16:30).
