    Global Voter Assistance: November 1st

Did you know every eligible American living  abroad can vote in U.S. elections this year?

Do you have questions about how to vote? Click  the chat bubble at the bottom of this screen and we'll help you find the answers.

Join us November 1st, or any Sunday(24hrs), Tuesday, Thursday & Friday (noon-4pm) and Saturday (2am-10am) till November U.S. Eastern time to talk to a volunteer LIVE on Zoom about questions you have about voting from abroad.

More information: The easiest way to request  your ballot is at VoteFromAbroad.org. It takes  just a few minutes to complete your form and  send it in to the US state where you last lived. If  you've never voted from abroad, the website will guide you step by step. In most cases it’s pretty simple. But if you’re new to overseas voting, or if you haven’t done it in a while, you may have additional questions. That’s why we’ll be here every Sunday until election day to help.

If you can’t make it any Sunday, you can always email us at helpdesk@votefromabroad.org or send in your question through our online help bubble, and a volunteer will get back to you promptly.

Talk with “First Vote” Filmmaker Yi Chen

Asian Americans are the fastest growing population in the U.S. and more than 11 million AAPI will be able to vote in 2020.

In a newly released documentary, First Vote, Yi Chen follows a cross section of politically engaged Chinese American voters, all first-time voters, during the 2018 midterm elections. This includes a variety of voters: A gun-toting Tea Party-favorite candidate courting GOP votes in the South; a podcaster in Ohio who became a citizen in order to vote for Trump; a progressive journalist confronting Chinese Americans for Trump after moving to a battleground state from Beijing; and a University of North Carolina professor teaching about race and racism in the U.S.

Join the Democrats Abroad AAPI Caucus, Democrats Abroad China, and Democrats Abroad Hong Kong as we host a discussion with the filmmaker of First Vote, Yi Chen. She is a Soros Equality Fellow and DC Arts and Humanities Fellow. First Vote is her debut feature documentary. By RSVPing for this event, you will receive a link to watch the film prior to the event.

Our goal is to bring awareness to the political influence of the AAPI community and discuss ways to improve voter outreach. Please help us cover the costs of the film license ($202) by making a donation to Democrats Abroad.
