In conjunction with the March For Our Lives event in the US, Democrats Abroad Japan will host a vigil at Shibuya's Hachiko Square in honour of those killed by gun violence in the US.
Participants will stand with a placard that has the name and age of the victim, and the location where they were killed. DAJ will provide the placards and names, and we ask for a small donation to cover our costs. If you have a name you would like to include, please PM Linda Gould, the host of this event, and we'll make a card for you.
Throughout the event, participants will have the chance to speak their thoughts about gun violence, provide stories about their experiences with gun violence, and offer solutions or ideas about how Japan might be a model for legislation in the US. We will record the event and post it to Youtube.
If you can't make it to Hachiko, you can still participate. 1) Send Linda Gould a private message, and you will receive a digital placard that you can post on FB or twitter. Or, get a group of people together, take a photo and send it to DAJ here on FB or twitter. Include the #marchforourlivesjapan, #DemocratsAbroad, #DemocratsAbroadJapan#neveragain
