Happy spring! We've had a few days of wild weather, but I'm hopeful that tomorrow morning will be lovely (if chilly) for our No Tyrants demo on Freiestrasse. I hope you are able to join us!
If you're otherwise occupied this weekend, please check out all of our upcoming events! We have recently announced our DACH Wellness Series, which features both online and in-person events, all free of charge. (Although, we will always gladly accept donations, especially in this critical election year.)
Do you have ideas for how we could reach potential voters? Are you looking to become more involved this year? If so, please answer our Basel Engagement Survey or fill out our Volunteer Sign-Up form!
Finally for today, I know that the news lately is bleak. The leaders in DA Switzerland, both in Basel and nationally, are working on political actions that we can either organize or join. Keeping an eye on our Facebook, Instagram, and/or chapter Signal chat will be the best way to get our most up-to-date information.
Democratically yours,
Liz Voss

DPCA Voting Representative, Switzerland
If you are a U.S. citizen living abroad, using the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) is the absolute best way to request your ballot. While you can technically use your specific state’s standard absentee ballot form, the FPCA grants you specific, powerful legal protections under federal law that state forms do not.
Over the next few newsletters, we will highlight these benefits. First up: Federal UOCAVA Protections
When you use the FPCA, you are officially registering as a voter covered by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). This federal law overrides certain state-level restrictions and guarantees your right to vote in federal elections from abroad.
The absolute best way to complete and submit an FPCA is via VoteFromAbroad.org. If you haven't requested your ballot yet this year, please do so now! And check with your US citizen friends and family to make sure they have as well.
We want to know what you think about the events we've had so that we can make future events better!
