Florida voting information inside! We have resources with information about every race and measure on your ballot.
(Football fans may recognize that I’ve paraphrased one of the TV broadcasters.)
Ballots must be sent to registered, overseas voters no later than 18 September (Florida election offices are officially closed on the actual deadline, which is a Saturday, so they must send by Friday). Some offices start sending ballots a few days before the deadline, so start watching your email beginning the week of the 14th.
Please vote and return your ballot as soon as possible! Florida allows and we recommend returning your ballot by fax, or since most people don’t have access to a fax machine, by using an online fax service. You can find more information in our Florida Voting Information page.
Regardless of how you return your ballot, please don’t delay. The number one reason why ballots aren’t counted is that they are received after the deadline.
We hope that everyone will vote for the Democratic candidate in every race, all the way down the ballot. Sadly, any Republican candidate will have had to pass through the MAGA gauntlet, and is pretty much guaranteed to be a Trump supporter. Not only must we take back the US Congress, but we must also take back the Florida Governorship, and at a minimum, break the Republican super-majority in the Florida Legislature.
Please don’t stop there. Every race on your ballot is important. The county commissioner elected in 2026 may very well be a Congressional candidate in the future. We need to build the Democratic bench! Additionally, many down ballot races have outsized impacts in the community. If you think that book bans, bathroom bans, pronoun bans, and climate change denial are horrific in Congress, they are just as horrific at the local level.
Florida Constitutional Amendments
The Florida Democratic Party recommends voting NO on all three Constitutional Amendments, and we concur. The pleasant-sounding titles hide insidious threats to city government budgets. By wrapping these measures around likeable subjects like “rainy day fund”, “tax relief for farmers”, and “home owner property tax abatement”, the Republican-controlled legislature is trying to strangle town and city services. They are literally trying to defund the police!

Many local governments will have local measures on the ballots. The county Democratic Parties usually have published a voter guide, and we link to them on our Florida Voter Resource spreadsheet. For those counties who have to published a voter guide, reach out through their website contact or their Facebook page. Some counties may not publish their guides until late September.
