The direction of the country starts at the state level. Control of the House is determined by competitive districts in states across the country, and the balance of the Senate can be decided by as little as one race. Policies on climate action, voting rights, reproductive freedom, paid family leave and more can advance more quickly on the state level, making every state a critical win in advancing Democratic priorities for a better, more just country and world.
If you’re looking for more opportunities to have an impact on the upcoming elections, look no further. Come learn about how you can help win elections up and down the ballot!
Democrats Abroad has formed 14 State Teams to provide targeted outreach to the voters in these states and the races that have an outsized influence. The Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin State Teams are Democrats Abroad’s specialized resources for mobilizing the vote and representing Americans abroad at the state level.
As we look ahead to the elections in 2023 and 2024, we need more volunteers on deck to maximize our impact in turning out and advocating for overseas voters. Each team is looking for help with:
- Event planning and engagement with elected officials
- Legislative advocacy
- Voter assistance and protection
- Phonebanking
- Communications
- Study abroad outreach
- State team program administration
During this event, the State Teams will talk about the work they each are doing to prepare for the upcoming elections and the different volunteer roles that are needed. Attendees will then be able to join breakout rooms with State Team volunteers to answer questions and discuss how to get further involved.
