“Independence Day is one of America’s most special days of the year. It’s my hope that VMF members and all Americans can enjoy the day and reflect on the incredible sacrifices and struggles our home country has endured over the last two-and-a-half centuries.
I’m also so incredibly proud of the work done over the past year by the VMF Caucus as we continue to register voters and get out the vote, get our volunteers involved in meaningful projects, and support our military-connected community. And as we remind folks every year, please be aware of fireworks and loud bangs when it comes to pets and veterans experiencing mental health symptoms, as these can ‘trigger’ PTSD episodes.
And finally, I’ll add that whether you’re watching the baseball season, the World Cup, or anything else, please don’t forget to send in your ballot this election season. We have a wonderful chance to retake federal, state, and local offices, and votes from abroad can certainly help us win. Happy birthday, America!”
U.S. citizens living abroad, both civilian and military, are highly encouraged to check your voter registration status and request your ballot for any upcoming elections in your home voting state that you are eligible to vote in.
