Message from the Chair
Dear Democrats:
First off, a quick announcement: we have a new Vice Chair, Libby Jamison, and a new Steering Committee member, Stephen Peters. Libby is a powerhouse military family member with years of experience in the political/advocacy realm, and Stephen is a Marine veteran who also brings valuable experience and skills to our leadership team. Our former Vice Chair, Kee Evans, has transitioned to a VMF Communications Coordinator role. I look forward to working with the revised VMF Steering Committee!
And once again, we’ve had an intensely busy month full of preoccupying news. The president shared a shockingly racist social media post; the Pentagon announced its interference with the Stars and Stripes periodical; the VA opened a public comment period on an interim rule regarding potentially harmful disability benefit changes; the State of the Union was once again filled with lies; and so much more. We’re sick and tired of all things MAGA, and we know you are, too. Make sure to read our news clips (below) to see what we have to say about all of the above.
VMF also continues to implement its 2026 Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Plan. We’re organizing voter registrations at military installations; we’re phonebanking; and we’ll soon be endorsing candidates. In addition, Illinois voters, please note our recent interviews with U.S. Senate candidates Kevin Ryan and Adam Delgado, both veterans.

We’re proud of the work we do as the DA Global VMF Caucus. But as a reminder, there are VMF caucuses in DA Germany, DA France, DA Spain, and DA Italy – and we’re extremely proud of these groups, too. Maybe you’d like to help register military voters at Aviano Air Base, Rota Naval Station, or the Army installation at Ansbach. Or perhaps you’d like to participate in a remembrance ceremony for a fallen service member laid to rest in France. If you live in one of the four countries mentioned above, please make sure you’re registered with the VMF Caucus in your country committee and set aside some time to volunteer with them as well. There are so many good causes! |

Congress—KEY VOTE
On February 11, 2026, the House of Representatives voted on the passage of the SAVE America Act – one of the biggest voter suppression bills in American history. The bill passed by a vote of 218 – 213 and is now pending in the Senate. Click here to see how your representative voted, and contact your Senators TODAY to encourage them to vote NO.
