No Tyrants, No Silence: The VMF Caucus Shows Up

Michael Ramos on the screen of the VMF Virtual No Tyrants

On March 28, the DA VMF Caucus hosted a virtual “No Tyrants” event in solidarity with protests taking place around the world. Veterans, military retirees, military family members, and allies joined the call to make their voices heard. Participants tuning in from across the globe spoke candidly about their frustration with the current administration's failure to lead competently during an active period of military conflict, and with Congress’s abdication of its constitutional responsibility to check executive power. The call also featured guest speaker Jimmy Anderson, a USAF veteran and former Biden administration official, who shared the real impact he’s seeing that this administration's disastrous policies are having on veterans and military-connected families no matter where they are in the world.

“What we’re seeing right now is a wannabe dictator in the White House - this is crystal clear. And every person who ever raised their right hand to defend our nation and Constitution should be outraged that this individual dares to think he’s somehow above the law. For this November, I’m confident the American people will elect Democrats up and down the ballot, and rest assured we’ll hold this president and all his lawless officials accountable,” stated Michael Ramos, DA VMF Chair.

Country Committee VMF Caucuses

Did you know that there is a growing network of country-level VMF caucuses doing important work right where our veterans and military families live and serve?

DA Germany, DA France, DA Spain, and DA Italy each have their own VMF caucuses, and we are thrilled to announce that DA Austria has just launched its own VMF Caucus!

How can you get involved? It might be helping register military-connected voters at Aviano Air Base, Rota Naval Station, or the Army installation at Ansbach. It might mean standing alongside a community to honor a fallen service member at a remembrance ceremony in France. It's meaningful work and it happens because of volunteers like you.

If you live in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, or Austria, connect with your local VMF Caucus and carve out some time to volunteer.

Don't see your country on the list? We'd love to change that. If you're interested in helping launch a VMF Caucus in your country, let us know!

Have You Requested Your Ballot Yet?

The 2026 midterms are not a drill. Congress controls VA funding, DoD policy, the defense budget, and so many important pieces of legislation that touch our community. Federal law gives us the right to vote in these elections, but you have to register and request your ballot.

Go to VotefromAbroad.org today to request your ballot!

Already requested your ballot?

Good! Now help us make sure every veteran and military family member in our global community does the same.

Email us at [email protected] to volunteer and get involved in our Get Out The Vote efforts.

Step Inside the VMF Virtual Museum

No tickets needed for this museum! The VMF Virtual Museum features exhibits exploring both current issues and the rich history of the community that defines our caucus. Each display tells a story, and there's more than meets the eye: click on any exhibit and swipe through to uncover additional pages and deeper content.

Resources and Support

The weight of this moment is real. As conflict continues to play out and we watch fellow military families experience loss and disruption, many in this community who carry the burden from decades of war and sacrifice are feeling that weight resurface in ways that are hard to put into words. For Coast Guard families, that grief is compounded by the ongoing financial strain of the DHS shutdown.

If you have the capacity, check in on a fellow veteran or military family. A simple “I’m here” or “I’m stressed too” can mean more than you know. If you are struggling, please reach out to the confidential resources below.

Military OneSource provides free, confidential non-medical counseling and resources for active duty, Guard, Reserve, and their immediate family members. Support is available worldwide. You can call from overseas or access live chat and resources at MilitaryOneSource.mil.
