Melbourne, Australia—Michael Ramos, the Chair of the Democrats Abroad Global Veterans and Military Families (VMF) Caucus, provided the following remarks in response to Democrats Abroad Austria establishing a VMF Caucus within its country committee:
“I’ve been amazed and impressed by the organizing work done on the ground in DA Austria in getting a VMF Caucus up and running. Our Global VMF Caucus has been supporting volunteers’ efforts there for a while now, and we’re super excited to see it come into fruition. With WWII action to Cold War meetings in Vienna to military retirees and veterans residing in this beautiful country, there is a significant amount of history within Austria that’s of interest to the U.S. military-connected community. DA Austria now joins four other DA country committees as having a VMF Caucus, and I can’t wait to work alongside them in getting out the vote in the lead-up to November.”
Members outside Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Austria are reminded to please see here for information and guidance on starting a VMF caucus within their own country committee.
