Michael Ramos (Australia) and Kee Evans (Guatemala), Chair and Vice Chair of the Democrats Abroad Global Veterans and Military Families Caucus, respectively, recently provided remarks in response to the 2024 General Election results.
"In seeing so many individuals roll up their sleeves and play their part in getting out the vote from abroad, I could not be prouder of our caucus members for making sacrifices and giving up blood, sweat, and tears this election season. That said, Project 2025 and a "M.A.G.A." legislative agenda are inching closer to reality, and we have no choice but to redouble our efforts in getting Democrats elected to office and advocating on behalf of our veterans and military families," stated Chair Ramos.
"It is heartbreaking that America has to endure what will inevitably be another four years of chaos and divisiveness. The Biden-Harris administration restored a sense of maturity to government, and the Harris-Walz campaign presented voters with fresh ideas and a positive agenda that helps all Americans. And although there were some highlights in congressional and state races, I am extremely disappointed with the White House result and gravely concerned for the future of our democracy. Remember, Trump stated that fallen servicemembers are 'suckers and losers.' If that isn't a wake-up call in becoming politically active and volunteering with us, I don't know what is," added Vice Chair Evans.
