What better way to commemorate the birth of the United States than helping Americans living abroad register to vote!
Democrats Abroad members from the Saarbrücken area and beyond met on the Europa Gallerie Plaza earlier this month to celebrate Independence Day by hosting a July 4th Voter Registration drive. This was a first for Saarland and many a passerby stopped to see what we were all about. Our group of seven volunteers took turns watching over the table allowing frequent breaks from donning masks. We were thrilled to use the skills practiced by assisting two voters to complete their registrations via their mobile devices. Many of the local people cheered our efforts and wished us luck in our efforts this November as we offered information about US elections and the process of our Democracy.
