The table below shows legislation in which the Democrats Abroad (DA) Global Veterans and Military Families (VMF) Caucus has taken a formal position during 2025; that is, the VMF Steering Committee has voted on each of these pieces of legislation. The bills (and resolutions) are mostly pending in the United States Congress, with a few pending in state legislatures.
As the year comes to a close, VMF will continue to monitor the following bills and resolutions in addition to keeping an eye on newly introduced pieces of legislation of interest to the VMF community. As 2026 is an election year and fast approaching, we expect more voter suppression-type bills to be introduced.
All VMF members are encouraged to notify us at [email protected] if there are any particular bills we should be aware of, whether on the congressional or state level. Members are also strongly encouraged to communicate with their Members of Congress to advocate for the VMF-endorsed bills, and to urge their lawmakers to reject the bills VMF opposes.
