In accordance with DA Canada bylaws, this post serves as the 60 day notice of an election to be held on April 14. 

These bylaws require us to create a Nominations and Election Committee (NEC) to oversee the elections.  The three members of this committee are Randi Weitzner, Christian Rodriguez and Gabriel Clement.

There is one open position on the Quebec Board, Treasurer.  Per the bylaws " Each candidate for election may provide the NEC a statement of candidacy no later than 45 days preceding the election."  Statements are due on February 29. A candidate doesn't need to prepare a statement.  It is sufficient for a candidate to submit their name.

Here is a description of this position:

Treasurer: 

·      The Treasurer shall manage the finances of the organization, maintain its monthly financial reports to members and make and maintain such financial reports as may be required by law (including without limitation the laws and regulations of the United States and the several States applicable to political parties and contributions to them).

·      All such records shall be open for inspection by members. The Treasurer shall prepare and present to the Annual General Meeting of Democrats Abroad Canada - Montreal a Statement of Income and Expenses and a Balance Sheet.
