On Saturday, June 10, DA officers from across the Asia-Pacific region gathered online to choose two officers to represent the interests of Asia-Pacific members at the DA global level: Asia-Pacific Regional Vice-Chair, to serve the full 2023-2025 term, and DA’s Asia-Pacific representative to the Democratic National Committee (DNC), to serve the remainder of the current term, which ends in 2024. From 5 candidates, Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the 12 country committees in Asia Pacific elected Suma Shamanna (DA India) Asia-Pacific Regional Vice-Chair. All voting DPCA (Democratic Party Committee Abroad) members from the Asia-Pacific region in attendance participated in a straw poll and, from six candidates, chose Cory Lemmke (DA Republic of Korea) DNC member. Attendance was open to all DA members.
