Democrats Abroad Reparations Task Force Resolution in Support of an Executive Order for a Federal Reparations Commission

On June 11th, 2023, the DPCA successfully voted for the Democrats Abroad Reparations Task Force Resolution in Support of a Federal Reparations Commission.

Our resolution demands President Biden enact a federal reparations commission on or around Juneteenth 2023.

The exact language of the “be it resolved” clauses reads:

THEREFORE, LET BE IT RESOLVED that the Democratic Party Committee Abroad calls on President Biden to enact a federal reparations commission via executive order;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the DPCA calls on the Congressional Black Caucus and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to pledge to bring all current reparations legislation to a vote as soon as Democrats take House majority; and

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Democrats Abroad International Chair shall transmit copies of this Resolution to the Office of the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States, Majority Leader of the United States Senate, Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, and Chair of the Democratic National Committee for immediate transmittal to the President of the United States.
