We’re excited to announce that the Democrats Abroad UK Art Zine, Stars & Gripes, has officially launched!
The zine was unveiled at our in-person launch party on 4 December, which was a fantastic evening of creativity and connection. We heard from the Editors about how Stars & Gripes came to life, enjoyed lively networking, and were inspired by contributors who read their work and shared the stories behind their pieces. The energy in the room was a powerful reminder of the strength and creativity of our global community.
Stars & Gripes is an Art Zine publication created by the Democrats Abroad (UK) Youth Caucus. The project invited all Democrats Abroad members to reflect on the U.S. social and political climate through creative expression. Its aim was to explore new and diverse ways for members to engage with issues they care about, allowing their voices to be heard beyond traditional forms of political participation.
The publication includes 27 submissions from across the global Democrats Abroad community, including the United Kingdom, France, China, Qatar, Italy, Israel, Sweden, and Norway. Each piece offers a unique and personal perspective, highlighting the creativity and passion of our international community.
