DAUK Gear up for International Voter Registration Day - 15 January 2026!

The midterms start January 1 for voters abroad. Why is that? Because that is the first day you can apply for your ballot. This will ensure you get all the ballots for the year - the primaries, special elections, and the general election on November 3, 2026.

Voters who live overseas have to request their ballot EVERY year. If you want to make sure your ballot is protected and arrives on time to get counted for November, make applying for your ballot one of your top New Year’s resolutions.

International Voter Registration Day is on January 15. You can apply for your ballot alone from home, but why not join others to do it and build communities of action at the same time?

This year, we are encouraging people around the UK to organize local get-togethers on Thursday, January 15, from 6pm to 8pm for International Voter Registration Day

We would love to have events all across the UK, from Northern Ireland, to Scotland, to Wales, and throughout England. Look at the list below for the events currently planned - the list is growing by the day! Don’t see an event near you and want to help organize one? Fill in this Google Form to express your interest!

Want to organize an in-person event, but can’t do it on January 15? No worries - organize one sometime in January, and we will support you then too!

Don’t see an event in your area? Let us know if you’re interested in organizing an event!

Through our collective action, we can highlight the need to apply for your ballot every election cycle and feel the power of our community by doing this together. This will raise awareness of the breadth of the efforts to get out the abroad vote in all corners of the country, highlight the fact that abroad votes count and provide the margin of victory in close races - and thereby reach more Americans Abroad to make sure they vote!
