Message from the Interim Chair

Good People,

We survived 2025. Yay! Do a happy dance! And then, let’s get serious about what comes next, as this administration continues rolling out Project 2025. We’re launching an Issues Tracker for periodic distribution via the Democrats Abroad website this year. Don’t forget to let us know the issues you want your State and Federal politicians addressing. From voting rights to healthcare, have your say.

We’re writing policy papers too. These aim to be quarterly and explain how government policy impacts Americans’ quality of life. Ranging from a living wage to public education, legislatures have the power and responsibility to improve lives. I explain more below. A sense of community remains a cornerstone of our Caucus, and this year we’ll continue to organize engaging events to help you connect and make sense of 2026.

→ If your New Year’s resolution is to do something to help save Democracy, make sure to request your ballot for the Midterms and/or register to vote from Vote From Abroad TODAY!

Next, encourage your sphere of influence to do the same, including those living in the U.S. Send them to I Will Vote. Let’s build on the momentum from our election wins in 2025 and ride a giant blue wave straight through 2026.

I also invite you to participate in the first virtual Democrats Abroad Resists event of 2026. It’s on Monday, January 12, at 18:30 CET/12:30 ET and will focus on the concrete actions we can take to resist this year. Join us!

→ Is there a Black Caucus near you? If you don’t know, ask the Chair of your country committee. New chapters are forming as we speak. Interested in creating one? Let me know via [email protected]. I’m also looking for team co-leads and team members for the Americas Region, Communications, Community Resiliency, Self-sufficiency & Sustainability, and my side-kick, Get Out The Vote Co-Lead, among a few others.

→ Come and find your place to do good trouble.

With thanks and relentless optimism,
Adrianne George
