Are you unsure about your US tax filing obligations? Have you been procrastinating determining your filing status with the IRS?

Please join us for a webinar organized by Democrats Abroad Germany featuring two tax professionals who are well versed in the ins and outs of tax filing obligations for Americans living abroad.  Arielle and Emily will provide the basics of US tax compliance specific to overseas citizens, as well as provide updates to what may have changed in the laws since last year. Understand your options for using the foreign earned income exclusion, learn about eligibility for tax credits, find out how foreign investment income or pension funds can impact your US taxes.

Arielle Tucker, CFP® & EA

Arielle Tucker, a Certified Financial Planner (TM) and Enrolled Agent specializing in working with US expats who live, work and move between the US and Europe. Arielle has spent over 10 years living between Germany and  Switzerland and is deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate the tax and planning challenges of being an US Citizen or US Green Card holder abroad. After years of working in Big 4 and boutique tax and financial planning firms, Arielle now operates Connected Financial Planning. The firm specializes in supporting U.S. citizens and their families who live in or relocate to Europe.

 

Emily Haines, CPA

After living abroad for over a decade, and gaining years of experience as a CPA working for big corporate accounting firms like Deloitte and KPMG, Emily Haines saw a need for tax accountants focused on helping people navigate the complicated ins and outs of international US taxes and to help people transition to living in new, foreign countries – and not let anything slip through the cracks. Today, she runs and manages Xpatax Solutions, a company she started for international and expatriate U.S. tax advising and preparation. The firm provides support to U.S. citizens living and working in Germany and German citizens required to file U.S. tax returns.

When it comes to serving her clients, Emily loves solving cross-border tax puzzles and unraveling the complexity of navigating the international side of US taxes. She is committed to above-the-board tax preparation and filing practices, unraveling the complexity to be manageable, supportive, and efficient.

 

Attendees are asked to please pre-submit any questions you have using this form by Monday, March 11. The more questions we get in advance, the better we can prepare and shape the program around the things you want to learn about the most!

Participation fee: $15 to attend the live session; $7.50 for students/unemployed/retired individuals. 100% of proceeds will go to helping Democrats Abroad Germany get out the vote in 2024. For those unable to attend the session, you have the option to purchase an on-demand ticket to view the recording after the event takes place ($10).
