Global State Teams Coordinator

About the Position

Democrats Abroad (DA) was the margin of victory for Joe Biden in Georgia and Arizona. We’re determined to not only deliver scale-tipping votes in races across the United States in 2022 and beyond, but also to transport the perspectives of U.S. citizens living abroad back to lawmakers stateside. One exciting new way we intend to do this is through the creation of state teams, particularly for overseas voters from and allies of 2022 battleground states including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin.

State teams will strive to build community among overseas voters from a certain state as well as cultivate and maintain a relationship with the respective Democratic state party. This relationship should not only create community among overseas voters but also foster voters’ closer connections to their voting state that will motivate them to cast a ballot. In addition, state teams will focus on protecting and expanding overseas voting rights at the state level, with the ultimate goal of reducing barriers to overseas voters’ participation in future elections.

In coordination with the International Executive Committee, the State Teams Coordinator will assist with the creation and development of DA State Teams, as well as ensure that their formal incorporation into DA’s existing organizational structure occurs in a smooth, understandable, and transparent manner for DA leaders and members alike.
