June 14th Congressional Briefing on Tax Challenges Facing Americans Living Abroad

On June 14, 2023 Congresswoman Dina Titus (D-NV-01) as the Chair of the Congressional Americans Abroad Caucus hosted a Congressional Lunch & Learn session to educate Members of Congress and Congressional staff about the tax challenges Americans abroad face. Joined by colleagues from American Citizens Abroad (ACA), Association of Americans Residents Overseas (AARO), and Stop Extraterritorial American Taxation (SEAT) to speak on a panel about overseas tax issues.

Topics discussed focused on problems faced by Americans abroad, why do Americans live abroad, research and surveys conducted on Americans abroad, what are the banking access issues, problems faced with filing a U.S. tax return from abroad, retirement issues, followed by questions from Congressional staff in the audience.
