Democrats Abroad Thailand Annual General Meeting and Elections

Democrats Abroad Thailand Elections will be held at the Annual General Meeting

June 16, 2021, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

We have an exciting slate of candidates who promise to bring passion and new energy to DAT this year.   Please check out their bios here as you prepare to get your vote on during our AGM, June 16.  Due to the pandemic situation in Thailand, this meeting will be virtual on the Webex platform.  Sign in instructions will be sent to all those who RSVP here on the website.
Reminder that we need a quorum to proceed with elections so please save the date and RSVP today.... now!

If you are not a US citizen or a member of Democrats Abroad but wish to join the meeting please email [email protected] to request log in details.  Please note that while the meeting is public, voting for DAT officers is only open to registered members of Democrats Abroad Thailand.  If you cannot attend the election but would like to cast a vote, you can do so by proxy.   Email us this form at I[email protected]

In addition to hearing the state of our DAT Country committee, you can also hear the latest from our Covid Task Force and what we can do to increase the access to quality vaccines for US citizens living in Thailand.

A reminder that we have a number of non-elected positions for Democrats Abroad Thailand simply respond to this email to have a member of the excom get in touch with you discuss these opportunities.

- Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Coordinator: This person is responsible for designing and implementing the DAT GOTV plan. Helps develop and manage our strategy for driving US voter participation from Thailand, including organizing Voter Registration and Voter Assistance activities, collaborating with the Social Media Coordinator (see below) to reach Americans in Thailand who are not (or not yet!) members of DAT, training local volunteers, and organizing participants in Global Call Hub efforts. Coordinates between DA-Thailand and the Global GOTV team for content.

Social Media Coordinator: A key volunteer role! Help maintain DA Thailand’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media accounts to promote events, political messaging, GOTV actions, etc. Coordinate with the Global Communications Team.

 - Bangkok Events Coordinator: Responsible for planning and organizing Bangkok area events. Works together with GOTV Coordinator, Social Media Coordinator, Caucus coordinators.

 - Tech Guru: We need someone with good sysadmin and networking skills to help manage all the pieces of DA-Thailand’s infrastructure. We don’t have much, but when we set up voter registration tables with networked laptops, printer sharing over wi-fi, or hardware to help voters scan and email voting materials to election officials in the States, none of that happens by magic. We know you’re out there – please sign up to contribute your tech skills to the Democratic Party!

 - Caucus Coordinators: If you're passionate about a particular issue or group, consider coordinating Caucus activities here in Thailand in collaboration with DA’s global, issues-oriented Caucus groups. On the global level, DA currently has a Black Caucus, LGBTQ Caucus, AAPI Caucus, Veterans and Military Families Caucus, Hispanic Caucus, and Women's Caucus. Want to be more involved? Volunteer to build support for these global groups among our Thailand membership.

We look forward to seeing you at the DAT Annual General Meeting.
