I want to cordially invite you to participate in an elegant cocktail fundraiser for our local Democrats Abroad chapter in Guadalajara. As we all know, the 2020 presidential election is tremendously important, and I hope you will help support the work of this vital organization.

Democrats Abroad is the official Democratic Party arm for the millions of Americans living outside the United States. It strives to provide Americans abroad a Democratic voice in our government and elect Democratic candidates by mobilizing the overseas vote. An estimated 1.5 million U.S. citizens reside in Mexico and it is the job of Democrats Abroad Mexico to help all of them register to vote in U.S. federal, state, and local elections. Votes from abroad were responsible for many democratic victories in the 2018 midterms. They will make a difference again in 2020.

Hosted by the board of Democrats Abroad Guadalajara, the fundraiser is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the home of Eva Petocz and José Maria Rancaño in Colonia Colinas de San Javier. The event will be catered by Luis Torres, renowned chef of Dax Cuisine Française here in Guadalajara. You will also enjoy the incredible duet “Shambless” perform classic songs in English and Spanish.

The cost to attend is $3,000 MX. Your support will contribute greatly to our efforts in raising awareness and getting out the vote prior to the Important November 2020 election.

Further details and RSVPs can be directed to Jude Wallesen, Chair of Democrats Abroad Guadalajara via email at jlwallesen@gmail.com, or by telephone at 332-257-4558.

On behalf of Democrats Abroad Guadalajara I hope you will join me in support of this worthy cause.

    Yours very sincerely,

Vote in the 2020 Global Presidential Primary here in Guadalajara!

The Global Presidential Primary is when Democrats Abroad members can participate in our official party-run presidential primary. We’re holding more than 220 events in 45 countries around the world, and we hope you’ll be joining us.

    Am I eligible?

If you’re a Democrats Abroad member and you haven’t voted (or plan to vote) in any other 2020 state presidential primary/caucus, you’re eligible to vote in the Global Presidential Primary.

What if I can’t join a voting event in person?
If you can’t join us at our event in Guadalajara, you can vote remotely. Look for your primary ballot in your inbox on February 18, or download it from democratsabroad.org starting on Feb 18, as well.

Do votes in the GPP count? Why should I participate in the GPP instead of voting in my state’s presidential primary?

Yes, your vote counts! In fact, you could even say that votes in the GPP count even more. Tens of thousands of people will participate in the global primary, but millions will vote in your home state. That means that your vote in the Global Presidential Primary is more powerful than voting in the California primary. In fact, it’s 4 times more powerful!

Can I vote in the Global Presidential Primary and in my state primary?

You can only vote in a presidential primary once. If you vote in the global primary and want to vote in a state for the down-ballot primary races (like for your congressperson), you can just skip the presidential section on your state ballot.

Where can I ask further questions?
Please email gotv@democratsabroad.org for voting-related questions,

    and info-mx-guadalajara@democratsabroad.org  for other questions.

    See you at the Primary!
