February 25, 2024 DAJ Newsletter

🌟From your DAJ National Officers!
We hope you were able to enjoy the recent holiday in Japan. As we head into March, we have many upcoming events, both social and political related, which have been compiled in this newsletter. The 2025 DAJ Bylaws Committee has also been formed, the time and location for the 2025 DAJ Annual General Meeting has been sent, and updates regarding DAJ elections for 2025 will be coming soon.
Speaking of elections, there are three elections coming up on April 1st: Florida’s FL-01 and FL-06 districts will elect their new member of Congress and Wisconsin will have their spring general election. Voters in these areas, check your state rules for information on receiving and returning your ballot and check our Vote from Japan regarding sending ballots from Japan.
Finally, a call to action: the SAVE Act (H.R. 22/S.128) is expected to come up for a vote in the House this week. This bill would require a new voter registration requirement of presenting government issued ID in person, thereby disenfranchising millions of Americans. Call your representatives and senators and urge them to oppose the SAVE Act. For more information on taking action, check DA’s post Stop the SAVE Act.
